Today’s post might seem a bit… “techy”, but it’s a feature we’re currently experimenting with!
It’s a graphics option that adjusts itself automatically in order to improve a user’s performance!
So, what does that mean?
For those of you who don’t know, when talking about a game’s “performance”, it usually means how well a game runs. It’s measured in Frames Per Second (FPS for short).
A game’s performance depends on a lot of different factors, among them the power of the hardware running the game, the Internet connection if the game is played online and the in-game graphics settings.
Which includes graphics resolution, which means: “How many pixels are shown at once on a screen?”. HD screens, for example, have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
Now, what does this mean for our feature?
Well, if a user’s frame-rate drops, the graphics resolution option will adjust itself automatically in order to improve the frame-rate.
We have very high goals in this company – we want to reach really many users globally. This is only possible if we can adjust the hardware and internet requirements automatically. Since our game-streaming competitors only reach a few top percentages of the internet population due to the Internet speed requirements, we hope that this feature will give us an edge over them.
Tell us if you have any problems with this, we’d love to hear your feedback!
